Rescheduling a snowed-out concert from January 2018, Duke Performances presents works and inspirations of Charles Ives. Jeremy Denk and violinist Stefan Jackiw work backward through the sonatas, from the jarring number four to the impressionistic number one, highlighting Ives’ unique modernism. Denk and Jackiw pair each sonata with a vocal performance by New York Polyphony of the hymn tunes and song foundations of Ives’ sonatas.

Music in the Courtyard: Music for Mary Tudor
An evening of antiphons, motets, and responsories taken from the Gyffard Partbooks and the Eton Choirbook. These manuscripts are among the few collections of Latin liturgical music to have survived the Reformation, with much of the music unheard and unrecorded.
